Discover the art of bookbinding in this hands-on introductory class designed for beginners . You’ll learn two foundational techniques—pamphlet stitch and accordion folds—while creating your own custom handmade books from start to finish.
We’ll cover the pamphlet stitch, a simple yet elegant binding method ideal for journals, zines, and small booklets. You’ll learn how to measure, punch, and sew pages together using traditional tools and techniques. We’ll also explore accordion folding, a versatile structure that unfolds into a continuous strip—by creating a miniature book with a hard cover.
Along the way, you’ll gain practical skills in paper handling, layout, and basic book design, while experimenting with different materials and formats. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with finished pieces and the confidence to continue exploring bookbinding on your own.
No prior experience is required—all materials are provided.

Cancellation Policy
For classes that are multiple dates or a series, cancellations must be for the entire session, rather than individual dates. Refunds described below are less credit card fees. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the start of a class or session are fully refundable; cancellations that are made within 7 - 14 days prior to the start of a class or session are 50% refundable. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of a class or session are not refundable. Note that classes with less than 3 students enrolled are subject to cancellation by Estero Bay Art + Craft and will be fully refunded, including credit card fees.
