Drawing is a way in which our body is able to interact with the world and process what we see.
This 3-part intro to drawing series will give you the confidence to begin a seeing and drawing practice. You can sign up for each class individually or as a bundle. Each week will have a different focus.
Week 2: Shape & Form, Nov 10
In this 90-minute class you will learn how line, shape, and value interact, relate to each other and what exactly these words mean. This principal understanding is essential to building up a whole and balanced drawing.
All materials are provided. Bring a sketchbook if you have one.

Week 1: Looking & Seeing, Nov 3
Looking is the first step to seeing. Our autopilot is to "look", but when we take intentional time to draw something, suddenly we "see" things that weren't there before. We begin to process and relate to the world in a much deeper way. This 90-minute class will cover basic drawing materials and methods giving you the confidence to begin your observational drawing practice.
Week 2: Shape & Form, Nov 10
In this 90-minute class you will learn how line, shape, and value interact and relate to each other and what exactly these words mean. Understanding how these principles work is essential to building up a whole and balanced drawing.
Week 3: Space & Composition, Nov 17
In this 90-minute class we will learn how to make a "balanced" drawing through space, composition, and depth. Utilizing thumbnail sketches and viewfinders will teach you to breakdown and engage with an otherwise overwhelming scene.

Cancellation Policy
For classes that are multiple dates or a series, cancellations must be for the entire session, rather than individual dates. Refunds described below are less credit card fees. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the start of a class or session are fully refundable; cancellations that are made within 7 - 14 days prior to the start of a class or session are 50% refundable. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of a class or session are not refundable. Note that classes with less than 3 students enrolled are subject to cancellation by Estero Bay Art + Craft and will be fully refunded, including credit card fees.
