Learn the art of creating your own natural dyes with Felise Gutierrez. In this introduction to plant dyeing class we will learn about mordanting different types of fabric, creating a dye bath and how to care for naturally dyed clothing. In honor of the upcoming Dia De Los Muertos celebrations, we will be learning to dye fabric with Marigold flowers! Marigolds create vibrant hues of golden yellow. Yellow is a primary color and the most common color found in plant dyeing making it an essential color to learn. Although many plants produce yellow, each plant offers a slightly different tone, which makes all the difference. Each participant will dye a cotton tea towel that will be premordanted upon arrival. Bring a vessel if you would like to take some of the dye bath home with you and come prepared with a notebook for note taking.

Cancellation Policy
For classes that are multiple dates or a series, cancellations must be for the entire session, rather than individual dates. Refunds described below are less credit card fees. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the start of a class or session are fully refundable; cancellations that are made within 7 - 14 days prior to the start of a class or session are 50% refundable. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of a class or session are not refundable. Note that classes with less than 3 students enrolled are subject to cancellation by Estero Bay Art + Craft and will be fully refunded, including credit card fees.
