Plant a Dye Garden; Fri, Apr 3 @ 2:00pm
Have you ever thought about trying to grow your own colors? Dye plants contain pigments in their roots, leaves, or flowers and can be used to make dye baths for fibers, or lake pigments for paints. This special dye garden workshop, led by natural dye artist and gardening enthusiast Felise Gutierrez, will cover the very basics of planning, soil prep, planting, and maintaining a vibrant dye garden.
In this 2-hour workshop, we will discuss which plants grow well in this area, what color ranges they can create, and what requirements they need to thrive? Then, we will practice planning and implementing a dye garden bed behind the studio together. You will go home with some seeds of your own and the confidence to start your own dye garden this spring!
