This class introduces kids and teens to the principles, tools, and skills of whittling and woodcarving. In this fun beginner-friendly class, kids will learn the basics of knife safety and safe wood carving while creating their own carving. Students will shape and carve a small wooden character or object to take home, learning simple whittling techniques along the way. Perfect for creative kids who enjoy hands-on projects, nature, and making something unique from real wood.
This is part of a Kid’s Carving and Whittling Series where James will teach various fundamental carving techniques using a simple knife for creating fun projects out of wood. All materials and tools provided, with close supervision and safety instruction throughout the class. Suggested ages: 9 - 14

For classes that are multiple dates or a series, cancellations must be for the entire session, rather than individual dates. Refunds described below are less credit card fees. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the start of a class or session are fully refundable; cancellations that are made within 7 - 14 days prior to the start of a class or session are 50% refundable. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start of a class or session are not refundable. Note that classes with less than 3 students enrolled are subject to cancellation by Estero Bay Art + Craft and will be fully refunded, including credit card fees.
